Halstead's Total Fitness is proud to be offering Stott Pilates classes here locally at Stowupland Community Sports Centre, to the general public. The Stott Pilates mind-body exercise repertoire is built on the principles of the late Joseph H. Pilates, and which also incorporates modern knowledge about the body.

The main essence of the classes is to firstly strengthen the core muscles and reduce tension and then to improve flexibility, stability and better posture. Core stability and strength is vital for everyday living. Whether you're a keen gardener, sports person, rambler or just some one living life, the benefits of a stable and strong core are numerous.

Stott Pilates is very good to help you to strengthen your lower back, mobilise the spine through all of its planes of movement and improve your balance and coordination.

There is a class for the complete beginner who knows absolutely nothing about this method of training but who would like to come and experience it and learn the basics. Then there is a class for the beginner to intermediate which are people who have done Pilates before and would like to progress to the next level. The intermediate class is available for those who now feel that they are ready for a more challenging workout.
